Property Information

Welcome to your home on the bay.
Here are some tips for an enjoyable stay.

  Lock Box

There are a few things you should know about life on Carrabelle Beach. We wish someone would have shared these things with us years ago, on our first visit, so we're sure you will appreciate the following tips...

WE HAVE BEARS - You will not see them during the day, but you MUST secure all food and garbage in the trash can provided or they will make a mess. Trash pickup is early Tuesday morning.
Franklin County Waste disposal is less than 7 miles away at:
210 State Road 65
Eastpoint, FL

SEA TURTLE NESTING SEASON (MAY 1 - OCTOBER 31) -
Franklin County has a lighting ordinance for marine turtle protection. It's critical to turn out your lights and draw the shades at night (bedtime) as you're staying in a beach property. Sea turtles lay their eggs on the beaches at night. The baby turtles also hatch at night. Both are directed by moonlight.

GULF WINDS COME OUT OF NOWHERE -
Especially at night. It can be completely calm when you go to sleep and be blowing 25+ MPH an hour later. Tates Hell is a 202,000 acre National Forest directly across the street. Because of this; before bed, Please...
Extinguish the charcoal grill after use.
Extinguish any fire in the fire pit with the water hose.
Ensure any Beach Chairs/Toys/Tents are secure.

CYPRESS STUMPS HAVE SHARP ROOTS -
Pay close attention when walking near the Cypress stumps along the beach. Some of the roots sticking up around them are small and sharp. We don't want your vacation ruined due to a sore foot!

SEPTIC TANK IS AREATED -
Due to the beach environment, Aerated Septic systems are required. They are very expensive and cannot handle the abuse of a normal septic tank. PLEASE DO NOT introduce anything that is not biodegradable, to include:
Feminine products (Even if it says it can be flushed, it CAN NOT!)
Grease
Paper Towels
Food

A/C UNIT -
Please remember to turn off the air conditioner when leaving doors & windows open otherwise conditioner will run uselessly and the condenser will sweat causing the unit to fail.

BITING BUGS -
"NoSeeUms" are a problem on the beach all year long, but they can be held at BAY (no pun intended). All of the local grocery stores and hardware stores sell specially formulated sprays that work well.

TRASH PICKUP

Trash pickup is earlyTuesday morning. Please put the trash can out by the road Monday evening or before 7:00 Tuesday morning.
